The Computer Department is one of the academic departments of the Faculty of Education in Gharyan, which was formerly known as the College of Teacher Preparation. The department aims to prepare a generation of teachers to meet the needs of educational institutions and other sectors. It bears the responsibility of preparing successful teachers and strives to develop its educational programs by keeping pace with modern educational technologies at the university level, as well as pedagogical training. The department also participates in scientific and educational seminars and conferences.
Our department is distinguished by having a highly qualified teaching staff that works with a strong team spirit, characterized above all by harmony, mutual respect, and cooperation.

- The Computer Department is considered one of the fundamental pillars of the Faculty of Education in Gharyan, and it includes more than 110 male and female students.

The Computer Department aims to prepare educational cadres who are scientifically, professionally, and research-wise qualified in computer science and its applications, through distinguished educational programs that keep pace with cognitive and technological developments, in accordance with quality standards, to contribute to meeting the needs of the labor market and serving the community
Goals
The department seeks to achieve the following objectives:
- Preparing educational professionals who are scientifically and professionally qualified according to quality standards and academic accreditation, to work in the field of computer science and its applications across various public education institutions.
- Developing students’ innovative abilities and training them to use scientific thinking methods to face and solve problems.
- Linking computer science and its applications with society and its various industrial, productive, and environmental institutions.
- Utilizing modern technology, smart teaching methods, and various enrichment techniques in teaching and research to keep pace with cognitive and technological developments.
- Encouraging research programs and participation in scientific conferences, seminars, training courses, and workshops
